> The famous Cross Colosseum where The God Eater's Cross Tournament takes place! It features several large screens that broadcast what Miss X is seeing during a fight, as well as a balcony for The God Eater to overlook the events. The Colosseum is connected to the larger building behind it, which includes the Fox Pagoda and Kit'Inn. The Fox Den is to the right of the Pagoda, which is where The God Eater is rumored to slumber... *-- Unknown* Here it is, Cross Colosseum! The place where lives can change in an instant! This round, open-air stadium hosts several entrances encircling the entire structure, for the ease of those spectating. There are four main seating areas (representing the colors of the four gates-- blue dragon, black turtle, white tiger, and red phoenix), as well as private viewing booths for the wealthier audience members. The God Eater has her own balcony to overlook her beloved tournament, front and center! ### History --- This is where the big show happens--the heart of Crossroads. Miss X and the God Eater host the biggest event of the year! Here, competitors fight to advance to the wish of their dreams. Miss X loves to rile up the crowds the best that she can--using the large screens that adorn the arena's periphery, she shows off a close-up view of the action. While watching the festivities and fights, audience members snack on commemorative beverages and foods, or shop at the *highly* stocked souvenir shop. Get yourself a God Eater plushie while you watch! With Tenki's abilities, the Colosseum can become an Ocean, a Desert, a bustling city... even your own mother's house. In the off-season, or non-fight days, Miss X loves to take over the Colosseum to host one of her many concerts. |

> The usual crash spot for traveling competitors for the Cross Tournament. It's rumored to be haunted, although customers swear the voices come from another dimension... *--Unknown* After a long day of fighting, training, and exploring Crossroads, *finally* it's time to crash on the softest bed in the realm. Pillows are always cool here at the Kit'Inn, and the bathrooms are always stocked with those little tiny shampoo bottles that everyone loves. Though... there always seems to be chatter, well into the night... ### History --- A quaint little Inn where fighters can sleep off their long days and recharge in quiet! The rooms have full amenities--bathrooms, mini fridges, kitchenettes, laundry & drying units-- it's the dream. Rumors *have* circulated about the possible 'haunting', but any ghosts have yet to be actually seen. Rather, voices and movements are often heard, as if someone in another world is in your room... The lobby is host to a delicious (and complimentary) coffee bar and lounge! Sit down, have a chat, get ready for the day--you might even see Miss X stop by to check in on her beloved fighters! |

> Stalls sell the food and wares of traveling merchants closer to the Colosseum, while resident merchants own the buildings closer to the walls. *-- Unknown* The smell of delicious, freshly made food wafts through the air as you peruse a stall for knockoff Miss X plushies with strange-looking faces. The streets are cramped, the buildings are close together, and everything comes to life at night here. ### History --- During the day, the Business District is not much to look at. This district is a unique blend of historical and modern architecture. Small apartments line the upper floors of buildings, while locally owned shops line the streets. Bakeries, clothing stores, flower shops, cafes, you name it, this district is probably selling it. At night, however, when the brightly lit signs are switched on, is when the fun comes out. Food vendors set up their stalls and sell food from all different realms. Scalpers in oversized coats sell equally overpriced tickets to the Colosseum, hoping no Crossguards catch their shady business. |

> This is the famous bar run by none other than the bartender, Saki. The alcohol served here is widely renowned, and all food is local and fresh daily! There's the regulars' lounge area, then a VIP lounge above, and supposedly The God Eater's special apartment above that. *-- Unknown* A contemporary bar where competitors past and present, winners and losers, gather around to share thrilling stories and a laugh or two. The atmosphere provides a social respite from the crowds of the stadium, a place where one could sit and drink on their own, or join a group of friends, new or old. ### History --- Run by bartender Saki, the Fox Den is a gathering place for those all over Crossroads. A tourist destination and a local hangout, all at once! Guests can peruse the endless cocktail menu, but be warned, Saki won't serve alcohol to those underage. That's what her endless mocktail menu is for! Serving as either a patron *or* a barmaid (often both at once), the Fox Den is Chiifu's usual haunt. She's the resident drunk, feel free to chat with her late into the night! Just be warned, after one too many drinks she starts talking about some pretty peculiar things. |

> A shrine dedicated to the local guardian deity of Crossroads, The God Eater. Residents and Crossguards visit it to pay their respects and give gifts of gratitude. *-- Unknown* Behind the Colosseum, you would think the roars of the crowd would intrude on this sacred space. Yet, for some reason, the voices of the masses cannot be heard here, only the wind rustling the many chimes hanging from the eaves and from the trees... This is a place of worship, not of revelry. Residents, Crossguards, even Miss X herself visit this place to pay their respects. ### History --- A small [saisen ](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saisen)made of pine sits in front of the shrine's altar. On the path up to the pagoda, and to the left and right of the main entrance are large, stone-carved kitsune statues. They guard those making their way to the shrine, as well as the shrine itself. The altar is adorned with offerings from townsfolk and crossguards--usually small amounts of money, handmade fox dolls, and bottles of alcohol. A common offering from children and adults alike is one of the many windchimes suspended in the eaves and trees--the paper hanging from them containing well wishes. Each chime represents a prayer, a wish, or a token of gratitude offered to The God Eater. The soft tinkling of the chimes creates an ethereal soundscape, a gentle reminder of the deity's benevolent presence. It is rumored the chimes are the God Eater's favorite sound! Visitors often pray to the God Eater herself in times of need, or at the beginning of a new year. The shrine dedicated to The God Eater is not just a place of worship; it is a living testament to the deep bond between the people of Crossroads and the divine protector who watches over them. Locals say that the God Eater spends her days on the very top floor of the pagoda--accessible only to the very few lucky visitors to her shrine. She's fickle, though, and a glimpse of her is few and far between. Even some of the oldest residents of Crossroads have never seen her. Want to test your luck? |

> A vile demon of many eyes used to lay claim to this cave, which is now flooded and feeds a hot spring below it. Bathing in the spring is rumored to make competitors more bloodthirsty... But that's just an old wives' tale! *-- Unknown* Tired after a long day of fighting in the colosseum? Bathe in the hot spring! Legs hurt from training to beat your next opponent? Bathe in the hot spring. Sore after running after Miss X for an autograph? Bathe in the hot spring. The springs at Oni Shrine heal all, take Tenki's word for it. ### History --- Hot water, falling snow... the mix of frigid air and steaming water does the body good. But wait--why is it only snowing *here*? Well, thank Tenki for that! As one of his favorite places in Crossroads to lounge (and nap, sprawl, unwind, laze about, doze...), the weather dragon blessed this shrine with perfect snowfall, year round! So unwind, and let all the tension in your muscles melt away as you luxuriate in the steaming water--just watch your step, you might step on a certain dragon's tail. There has been a strange rumor swirling around here... supposedly, several visitors have been overcome with the vision of a purple-haired man standing beside them, whispering in their ears... these visitors have apparently lashed out at other bathers, in a fit of rage. But that's just a rumor, after all! |

> The forest behind the Fox Pagoda that connects with Oni Shrine. It's said that wandering spirits take up residence in the forest, and it's ill-advised for the living to stroll through here. *-- Unknown* It seems to be permanently evening within this eerie forest... Perhaps it's the thickly grown trees-- their branches and leaves intertwined above so densely that every mote of light is blocked out. Locals stay far away from this woodland, taking the surrounding paths on their way to the Oni Shrine or Fox Pagoda. Signs of warning are posted about, yet inevitably visitors ignore them... some make it out with fantastic stories of speaking with wisp-like spirits, and others are never seen again. ### History --- An area avoided by all who inhabit Crossroads, except for the unwise. A strange breeze blows through Sacred Forest, and there seem to be eyes watching from all around--hungry and curious. Multicolored spirits, wisp-like in shape, float aimlessly through the trees. Some are silent, some wail in sorrow, and others tell travelers of the life they lived. These wisps, however, are not the only things to wander these woods. The remains of a once-great demonic army, covered head to toe in grotesque eyes, stalk these grounds. They go after the spirits for snacks, but these demonic beats prefer a fresh meal. After one too many visitors had gone missing, locals posted up signs around the forest, warning of the dangers within. It's up to you, however, to heed them. |

> The highest peak in Crossroads. Few have climbed to its peak, and the few that have claim that a strange spirit-like girl spoke with them at its peak. *-- Unknown* After an arduous hike up the side of Mt. Mei, the view is spectacular. The view is Crossroads is hazy, the air is crisp, and the pale sky above gives everything an otherworldly atmosphere. The breeze blows endlessly, giving hikers a refreshing chill, and no wildlife can be heard. ### History --- It takes a dedicated soul to climb to the peak of Mt. Mei, but all who have claim that the view is worth it! Breathtaking, panoramic scenery, crisp mountain air... Oh, and the ghost girl, of course. No one is sure if she's just a rumor, an elaborate prank, or a result of the thin air and exhaustion experienced by hikers. Regardless, all who scale Mt. Mei return with stories of a pale, spirit girl who will chat shyly with hikers until they take their leave. Pale blue hair, wispy purple dress... she seems to have good intentions. Rumor has it that the [God Eater](https://wiki.summerleaguesoct.com/books/npcs/page/the-god-eater "The God Eater") regards her as a close friend. |

> Residential buildings that sit between the port and higher levels of Crossroads. This is the closest to "city-like" Crossroads is. *-- Unknown* One of Phoenix Coast's most alluring aspects is its contrasting natural views. To the east, the majestic mountains rise dramatically, and the main streets of Crossroads. To the west, the expansive port with its bustling docks and, shimmering waters offers a gateway to the sea, which stretches endlessly into the distance... the further you look out, the stranger the clouds look out there... ### History --- Phoenix Coast hosts a lively city setting within the traditional architecture of Crossroads. Residents of this area have access to more electricity than most within the land, and tend to flaunt this luxury. It may not be the most wealthy district in the area, but it *definitely* is the most modern (especially to visitors from afar). If you miss the city life, air conditioning, and neon lights, Phoenix Coast is the place for you. |

> Current local leaders reside in these houses. The Crossguard Lookouts are also located within this district. *-- Unknown* Cobblestone streets are lined with electric-powered lamps here, glowing warmly in the evening air. Elegant townhouses with wrought-iron gates are homes to local community leaders, wealthy merchants, and even past Tournament winners. At each of the cardinal directions stand tall watchtowers, occupied by the God Eater's ever-vigilant Crossguards. These affluent streets are a simple convergence of aristocratic elegance and local responsibility. ### History --- Being residential, this District is not often frequented by tourists. However, that does not mean there's nothing to do here! Several elegant restaurants and cafes are nestled within the district's gardens. The gardens are surprisingly expansive, comprising an assortment of odd flowers. Swimming lazily within the garden's pond is a trio of gigantic koi fish--black, gold, and orange, these fish are bigger than the average human. Beloved by all in the district, they are fed and cared for by the community, like big group pets! The Koi are known as Kinka, Taji, and Haruki--and they don't eat typical pellets! Toss them a few golden coins, a valuable watch, a beloved necklace... maybe a stroke of good luck will be in your future! There may even be a few past winners residing within this District. Not everyone's wishes are extravagant--some just wish for a peaceful family life. |

> A forest village. Most of the folks from here work in other areas of Crossroads, but they keep a tradition of hunting local deer. A quiet community tucked away in the hills of [Mt. Mei](https://wiki.summerleaguesoct.com/books/locations/page/mt-mei "Mt. Mei"). Tortoise village is lush with vegetation year-round, enjoying a temperate environment. In the spring, the village is a kaleidoscope of floral colors grown by local families. The mountainous location boasts breathtaking views of Crossroads, and holds plenty of hot springs for visitors to relax in. Tenki often finds himself spending days on end lounging in local springs here--giving the village good weather in return, of course. ### History --- Many of Crossroads' iconic Crossguards spent their childhoods growing up here, getting lost in the deep forests and playing in one of the many cool streams. It's a very close-knit community that enjoys a quiet life--that is, until a tournament is run. Many inhabitants of the village travel to watch the fighting, and outcomes are often the talk of the town. |

> A mountainous village connected to a lake resort, a favored destination for wealthy travelers and honeymooners. Electricity is generated for Crossroads with the large windmills here. *-- Unknown* This resort town is a perfect place to bring your loved ones for a vacation. It boasts a selection of scenic heights, ample stargazing, a luxurious spa, and swimming-- even weary competitors might spend a long weekend here! ### History --- Nestled behind the foothills of [Mt. Mei](https://wiki.summerleaguesoct.com/books/locations/page/mt-mei "Mt. Mei"), Dragon's Post is a cozy resort town beloved by Crossroad's wealthy community. Those who live here year-round are farmers, as well as engineers running the city's electricity-generating windmills. For visitors, however, this lakeside town is a dream vacation. The sky is clear, there are boats for rent, and the waters of the lake are always a comfortable swimming temperature! |

> A strange bay where sun rises and sun sets last longer than anywhere else. A favored spot of couples. *-- Unknown* Nestled along the sandy Crossroads coastline, hidden from the typical notions of time and space, sits Ume Bay. This picturesque haven is strange, even by Crossroads' standards. A place where day and night converge in peculiar harmony. Here, the boundaries between sunrise and sunset seem to blur, offering lovers and wanderers a unique experience of endlessly extended twilight. ### History --- Ume Bay is a place known for its transformative pastel skies, pale pinks, soft purples, and muted blues. The sun hangs, suspended, on the edge of the horizon. The beach is dyed in its soft colors, and as the sun finally dips below the ocean, it rises again soon after in the colors of dawn. Long shadows are dragged out along the bay as this cycle plays out in suspended time. Due to its seclusion and its blurred sense of time, Ume Bay is a favorite spot for couples to convene. Watch out that you're not interrupting anyone if you decide to take a stroll here. |

> Farmsteads that feed all of Crossroads work the land here. They frequently raise cows, horses, chickens, goats, sheep, pigs, and alpaca! *-- Unknown* Well... it's farmland! All of Crossroads' food is grown and raised here, then shipped all over. The locals are sweet, and despite their isolated location, even they keep up-to-date with the Tournaments! ### History --- If you want to see some cows, sheep, chickens, and... whatever that animal is over there, Tiger's Fields is your place to visit. Chat with some salt-of-the-Earth locals, eat the best blueberry pie you've ever had, and buy a hand-knit sweater! This far out into the country, it's easy to hide out. Looking for a new identity? Need to reinvent your life? This here's the place for you! Farmers are always looking to take on new stablehands and milkmaids. |

> A strange meadow that either gifts or takes away time from those that travel through it. It may take someone a few minutes to traverse it, or an entire day. Frequently avoided by merchants. *-- Unknown* The strange meadow is a mystical and enigmatic place, existing in a state of complete ambiguity. As travelers pass through its grassy expanse, they become subject to its whims, which may either gift or take away time. It is a place where the passage of time is profoundly altered--almost as if the meadow has a mind of its own, toying with those that pass over it. If you're in a rush, avoid this place at all costs. ### History --- Anyone who has lived in Crossroads for more than a few years knows that Shifting meadow is not a place you want to pass through while traveling. It may be a fun (at first) tourist attraction, but quickly transforms into a nuisance once you're stuck in it for hours at a time. It's said even the God Eater herself avoids this meadow, unable to tame its whims. For the few who *do* dare to venture into the meadow, the experience is both captivating and unnerving. If you're lucky, the expanse passes in a blur beside you in just a few steps. But for the unlucky (and often, those on a time crunch), each step drags through space at a snail's pace and ends up with a search party waiting at the other end. For the *extremely* unlucky, the Meadow may choose to swallow you whole, trapping you in an eternity of unending wandering. |

> Be careful of this river; its currents can be rough, and it is difficult to rescue those that fall in. *-- Unknown* Don't be deceived, the waters in this river are faster and deeper than you'd expect. Placid water and gentle rapids overlie a fierce undercurrent that pulls those who fall deep into an underground cave system. Rescue attempts are typically too dangerous to attempt... swim at your own risk. ### History --- Beautiful and dangerous, Zo River is a scenic location visited by few. Lush flora and a thriving ecological location belie a savage river current. The crystal clear water seems to show a shallow river-- yet is truly an endlessly deep trench. The underworld of Crossroads, a twisting and turning series of underwater caves, is not a place you want to be stuck in if you don't have gills. |
