Shiori & Sana Okagami
-- Shiori Okagami
Shiori is a Battle Priestess who takes care of a remote shrine left in her charge by her late adoptive grandparents. She copes with her lonely existence by employing altruism and sticking to routines of which there's many at the Okagami Shrine. Although she still has her dear friend, Tana Okina, she often feels lost in the wandering world, thinking about the past where everything was simpler.
To her, the crossroads tournament is not just an opportunity to become stronger, but perhaps right the wrongs that she believes are her responsibility. However, while she aims to get the fabled wish from the tournament, her altruism and idealistic beliefs might get in the way of her goals, in favor of helping others with theirs.

BackstoryAfter the death of her adoptive grandparents, as the last priestess in charge of the Okagami shrine Shiori is the reincarnation of the Okagami "Goddess" herself, she enters the Crossroads Tournament for "training", but her motives might be more than initially thought.
PersonalityShiori might seem like a pushover at first, a clear optimist that tries to see the good in everyone and everything, but she's far from gullible or ignorant. She is a kind soul that tries hard to please as many people as possible, sometimes to her own expense, and finds genuine joy in helping and understanding others. She can still be frustrated when others refuse to improve and will sadden when others lose their lives without being given a chance. At best she's hopeful, at worst she's idealistic.
Despite this, Shiori has a limit like every sensible person and will not hesitate to take another's life when a life is threatened, as "you should be prepared to lose it if you were ready to take it." She will still offer proper burials to the dead and refuses to kill without a proper reason.
She is not used to technology, and she has a lot of routines she can't do at crossroads, which makes her a little anxious, all things she wasn't prepared for as she didn't think about leaving the shrine until recently. |

Abilities
Aspect of [Soul] & [Shape] - Soul Manipulation
If Shiori comes in contact with the invisible force known as the [Soul], the spiritual manifestation of a being, she can [Shape] it in ways it affects its vessel, A.K.A. it's body. Magic utilizes Soul Energy present in both the Air and the Self, so to change a soul she has to spend part of her own.
While it can do small changes easily, it more closely resembles relocating stats, so if she wants to do something negative to the body, she needs to do something positive too, and vice versa.
For example: If Shiori makes someone heavier, she would have to make them stronger too due to the increase in mass.
This works on herself, and she utilizes it for small bursts of strength or speed, but the more she uses this ability, she risks wearing herself out and even dying if she does it too much.
Shiori has a self-imposed code of honor that forbids her from leaving any lasting changes to her opponents, mainly due to fear of it being irreversible in her lack of experience with her abilities but will still attempt to do small things when in dire situations.
This code of honor does NOT apply to herself, but her aforementioned lack of experience might deter her from doing anything too drastic, with the worry of not being able to reverse it.
'Raguna Roku' - Soul Blade
Shiori mainly uses her Soul Shaping to create a blade (out of her own soul) and can extend it and curve it to use different styles, changing its sharpness, and even completely changing its shape to something that doesn't resemble a blade. However, making it longer or sharper is more taxing.
Raguna Roku, or Ragnarök, was originally a skill used by Sana herself. A giant blade sharp enough to cut through the purest and hardest steel. Shiori's version is more refined and compact, making it potentially sharper when used in a deadly way.
Miko Kenjutsu - Priestess Sword Arts
A combination of a preferred sword-discipline and rituals, Miko Kenjutsu uses purification-adjacent abilities or magic items to subdue and seal foes. This is a style passed down generations, with every user of it having a different ability and sword technique.
Her first sword style is Iai (Quickdraw) which is fast and unpredictable, but not too powerful as its mostly used one-handed.
Her second style is Jo-dan First Stance, a basic overhead striking position that while predictable, allows her to use her full weight on a single strike, making it more powerful. She has some special-adjacent moves which are mostly a series of strikes she needs to land consecutively for disarming or even finishing foes. *
(*The naming convention for Shiori's more flashy moves is Japanese Festivals, nothing is set in stone with those.)
Shiori uses her Soul Manipulation ability to infuse her Ofuda and Prayer Beads with bits of her own soul as she does with her blade. She can spread herself too thin, so these are used sparingly.
Ofuda contain a charge of Shiori's Soul Manipulation magic, which can produce the same effect as Shiori's direct contact. The effect will run out if the ofuda's ripped apart, which is why it has to be positioned properly.
Prayer Beads can be used as projectiles when broken, or as a bind.
Strengths
Friendly and approachable.
she is able to get along with most and is genuinely a good and reliable person. Shiori's personality is mostly seen as comforting and open to most that meet her.
Desires to help others more than anything.
She will try to find a way for everyone to be happy as long as they ask for help. No matter how big or small the task as long as it's in her capabilities she'll at least give it a try.
Experienced in combat with various types of opponents.
She's no pushover when it comes to clashing blades, as she has faced Youkai of all shapes and sizes in the short time she's been alive. She can also push herself past her own limits when in danger, as sometimes it's necessary for survival.
Good listener.
A great learner, and pretty understanding of other's emotions' too. Shiori has a very decent memory and will remember what others tell her, especially if she can help with any of it.
Weaknesses
Using her magic too often will strain her own soul & body.
If not careful, she can knock herself out or even die from overexertion, signified by a nosebleed and/or glassy eyes.
Her desire to help others can and will get in the way of her own goals.
Altruism and Idealism do not go hand in hand, and the idea of being able to help everyone she comes across can pile up and overwhelm her. She is just one person after all.
Stuck in the past.
Gets uneasy and distracted when she doesn't finish her daily routines, the one thing really tying her back to her happier times. She also sometimes completely forgets to think ahead. Shiori plans mostly in the moment rather than for the long run.
Mostly human-like in nature and has little to no self-preservation.
If she doesn't manage to dodge or deflect a powerful attack, she will be seriously damaged, and in the worst of cases will leave her down for the count. She will try to ignore these injuries until the point where she can't anymore.

Author's Notes
- This page was originally made by @GregGearArt while I was busy crunching on the last day. Thank you, Greg! "If you don't change this section, Starr, I'm going to kick your ass!" he said...
- Shiori's pretty basic as a character, but she shines more when put up with others, which makes sense in a tournament/oct, doesn't it?
- I finished her entire audition in a single day (aside from the drafts which had been made months before), there might be some discrepancies between the Ref-Sheet, which was made in advance, and the wiki/audition which had changes made after. I'll try to change as much as I can beforehand but I'm leaving this comment here as a disclaimer.
- Shiori was originally conceptualized weeks after Season 1 ended. She's almost 2 years old!
-- Sana, Inari Round 2
Shiori's past life and Ancestor, Sana is a terminally love-sick immortal kitsune with a single goal in mind and no concern on what it might take to achieve it.
Table of Contents
BackstorySana is a fox that gained magical abilities several decades ago by the hand of a powerful stranger, so she could be with the human woman who took care of her before her awakening. Eventually this human dies of old age and Sana wanders aimlessly through life following the words of the stranger "helping others in her own way", some of her good deeds early in her life landed her in the prayers of many, even becoming the center 'god' of a religion. Sana had more relationships, with more harsh departures. most due to age, some due to tragedy, her loneliness getting the best of her the more lovers she was 'left' by.
At some point Sana tries to learn more human customs by going to different schools and taking different classes, but she never truly understood what the classes were about, outperformed most of her tasks and became the top of several schools.
She eventually meets Inari, whom she grows attached to after an act of kindness from an unlikely place. Inari and Sana eventually start yet another relationship, but Sana attempts to give her immortality to stand by her side for eternity.
Sana is Shiori's past life, as Shiori is made out of her original body and a separate fragment of her soul, split by the God Eater herself and Inari Sato after a confrontation. For this reason, Sana thinks she's entitled to get her body back eventually, even if she's impressed by Shiori's current powers and abilities surpassing her past self's own. While she has more experience than Shiori by far, Shiori seems more powerful, leading Sana to try and hold Shiori by a figurative leash. PersonalityOka is a very reserved person, she used to barely ever share information about herself. She keeps an air of mystery to herself and doesn't seem to regret what she says or does, and usually prefers not to engage or interact with people that she deems not important or helpful to her cause.
She can be described as a bit of a sociopath, as she doesn't understand how normal human relationships work, since she possesses immortality and an ability deemed godlike in her world.
After the emotionally brutal end of her life (SL S1), is now more deranged and aggressive than she was before, this fragment of her now twisted old personality surviving within her ex-lover for years. Lacks morals and hates romance more than anything. She doesn't truly understand human emotion and will not hesitate to hurt others for the sake of her wish, despite always thinking she's in the right to do so due to her messed up understanding of human society and standards.
Despite all this, Sana has a sly and sassier side to her, especially visible when she has the upper hand on any situation. She is an incredibly honest person, to an almost cutthroat extent, where she always expresses what she really thinks and never truly lies, just withholds information. |

Abilities
Soul Manipulation - [Soul] & [Shape] (Mastery)
Sana's version of Soul Manipulation has years of refinement and practice. Sana herself actually manages to do quick changes to her own body on the fly, things like iron skin, more flexible bones, extra eyes, as long as she has an understanding of how it works somewhat, she will be able to change her body, or other people's bodies. Curses and seals to people's souls are also possible, and they're permanent unless Sana dies.
The potential of this is vague at best, but it's biggest weakness is it's range, which is contact-based.
Possession - Two Tailed Boost
As a previous owner of this body, and utilizing a Soul Link that was forcefully imposed, Sana can enter and take control, granting an additional tail, and with that, a boost to the Soul Manipulation ability.
With Two Tail Boost, Sana and Shiori's now combined souls recover way faster, along with allowing for better more intricate control over Soul Manipulation, thus allowing them to do more intense modifications to their own soul and body, along with their opponents for way less cost and consequence. The capabilities of this are actually pretty vague and range from morphing flesh to remove injuries to complete body horror.
While Shiori has a strong moral code to NOT leave lasting side effects with Soul Manipulation, Sana does not abide by the same code and will disfigure and distort others if she comes into contact with them. As such, it's important to mention that Two Tailed Boost has Sana be the one in control of the body, while Shiori becomes an internal spectator.
Sana can easily possess Shiori when she's exhausted or weakened. While Shiori can take back control if she rejects Sana hard enough, Sana CAN and WILL resist, which becomes easier the more worn out Shiori is. In the hypothetical situation of Shiori dying in battle, Sana will assume full control.
Using this technique will leave Shiori one step closer to disappearing, in the best of cases. In the worst, only Sana remains.
Possession - Other
Sana can possess anyone with a weakened will or weakened body. And their body will be hers until the person has enough will to kick her out, or the body gets knocked out. Additionally, Sana can take hold of a decently deceased body too in a more permanent fashion, but in any of these cases, she'd not stay with the body permanently, as she will prefer getting her original body back.
During this possession technique, Sana can still use the original body's powers and abilities if they're still alive, but her Soul Manipulation wouldn't be as powerful as 2 Tailed Boost, so she'd be weaker than otherwise.
The markings appear over the person's body to signify the body's strain, making it harder for Sana to pretend to be the owner of the body.
Ouroboros - Twin Snakes
While possessing a body, Sana can actually use her old ability Ouroboros. A snake-like head protruding from her spiritual tail. While not as durable as Raguna Roku's blade, it repairs itself easily and is incredibly persistent, following its target anywhere without getting tangled on itself and It'll deal serious physical damage when it manages to actually land.
Stealth - Concealed Presence
Sana is near undetectable if she doesn't want to be, the main way to notice if she's even nearby is how the environment gets supernaturally colder around her.
Strengths
Cunning
She's a quick thinker and an astute planner.
Experienced
Her abilities and combat expertise have been honed for decades. While she doesn't have too much combat prowess, she's still able to tell how a person moves in combat out of instinct.
Creative
The ways she uses her powers are always changing, and her strategies can be unorthodox and unexpected.
Book Smart
Knows a lot of textbook knowledge from her time pursuing an education.
Weaknesses
Dead
Literally a spirit. Needs a physical body to do anything.
Vixen Aura
Someone with good enough instincts or powers can feel Sana's powerful soul when interacting with her, making her feel untrustworthy and harder to trust.
Amoral*
Doesn't understand human morals and certain human traditions/ideologies.
Self-Centered
If something doesn't benefit her or directly harm her she will not pay it as much attention as otherwise. Her goals matter to her more than anyone else's.
Unempathetic
Her power and long live make her unable to relate to others with shorter lifespans and not understanding of their ideologies.
Weaponless
Most of her lifetime has been spent using her sorcery, so she has zero weapon knowledge and will refuse to use them, despite it being advantageous most of the time.

Author's Notes
- In case I didn't make it obvious, Sana is actually an antagonist from Season 1. She was loosely incorporated into the story due to lack of time, but during this run I intend to develop her further and actually address things I didn't get to show and tell during her first appearance.
