Cadet
-- C4D3T
Cadet [Real Name: UNKNOWN], is a notorious hacker and criminal. On his home planet, he's wanted for numerous crimes, majority against corrupt corporations that exploit the masses for profit. Priding himself in his hacking and infiltration skills, he takes what he wants in pursuit of his goal: Revenge.

BackstoryCadet grew up in squalor, but it didn't really matter to him. Technology was common place and he loved it. He loved tinkering with it and seeing the things he could make in digital spaces spurred him onwards. And so did his little sister and mother. His father left shortly after his younger sister, Riisa, was born, when cadet was only 6. Deliyah, his mother, became rather sickly after her second child, but still did everything to care for her children, as they in return cared for her when she became bed ridden. The three struggled to get by, but they scraped through.
That was, anyways, till a large tech company has a security scare. They were looking for whoever has caused it, and traced it to a shoddy apartment building. They got the apartment wrong. They broke in and found Deliyah and Riisa with Cadet's slowly accumulated equipment, the picturesque image of a hackers den. When Deliyah tried to explain there was a mistake, they took her protests for resistance and shot her down, as well as Riisa who she was trying to protect. Cadet came back to see the private military soldiers leaving his apartment, and the only family he knew collapsed dead. Cadet was 10.
Cadet grew, and so did his anger. His hatred for this city. For the corruption that let this and many other crimes committed by large corporations be swept under the rug for just a few hundred credits. Cadet wanted to see it all burn. So he learned. He learned to break into mainframes and expose every crime they did. To rob credits from their bloated bank accounts. To infiltrate and steal their developmental tech, including a certain military AI.
He erased his true name, and became the hacker C4D3T.
He couldn't have his family back, so he would turn this city into something they could've lived in peacefully. And that starts with every power hungry corporation that turned this city into a horrible capitalistic hellscape, where you had money or you died to make others money.
PersonalityCadet is a spiteful and closed off individual. His trust is not easily given, and only acts aimable to those he sees as useful for his quest. Otherwise he's brazen and offensive, often looking down on others since his confidence in his own abilities causes him to have a superiority complex. But secretly, he wants no one close to him since he thinks anyone close to him will ultimately die.
He may do good actions, but he's no hero. He has no qualms about killing if someone blocks his path. He sees anyone that involves themselves with corruption. However, he does have a weakness for children and tends to act nicer to them... Which in his way means indifference. |

Abilities
Hologram generation and manipulation
Cadet can generate hardlight holograms that can act independently due to the computer installed inside Cadet's brains, allowing them to do anything as long as he thinks of it. And being hardlight, they have mass, so it's difficult to tell apart the real from the fake for the untrained eye. Cadets favorite usage is to make holograms of himself to distract his opponent or to attack from multiple angles.
However, being hardlight means they can be destroyed with weak attacks. They're also bound to a range of 50 meters from Cadet. Any further and they begin to dissipate and lose their mass and functionality.
Additionally, cadet can also use holograms to temporarily blur and shield his body, making him hard to hit, and easing dodges (sort of like the perfect dodge in NieR Automata)
Digital World
Cadets cerebral computer allows him to interface with any technology he can see and get digital readouts on anyone as well. If it has electricity, he can hack it. This lets him interact with it any way he wants or even temporarily change it's programing (for example, opening a locked door and changing it's security, having a robot fight for him, etc.). If it's a person, he can see basic information on the target, as well as statistics estimating how strong they are, plus any recorded information available about them. When he's doing this, a white limbal ring in his eyes glow.
Cybernetic Augmentation
In a technological world, the weakness of flesh is unfortunately made apparent, so cybernetic augmentation has become rather commonplace in Cadet's world. After all, magic isn't real where he comes from, and you cant just create holograms without some sort of tech. Cadet has multiple mechanical inlays underneath his feathers/skin/flesh to create holograms, his left eye is fake, allowing him to have his digital readouts, and his legs have an enhanced exoskeleton to allow him to move faster without straining his muscles. He also has a USB port on the back right of his neck to allow him to interface with anything directly (though he knows that's risky since its directly going into his brain).
Digi-Storage
With the advancements in modern technology, Cadet is able to store nearly anything in a digital space on a physical storage drive he carries (sort of like a cartoon backspace). It does, however, have limitations. He cannot store anything living, it just wont let him. Any organic material will store... incorrectly, as the technology hasn't gotten the minutia of organic DNA yet. The most common bug of this is if you try to store food, you can take it out of storage fine, but it will have no taste. Also, any complex electronics cannot hold their memory/power state, and will be reset if stored in, so no storing computers and such. Mechanics, however, are completely fine, so things like his gun and plasma blade are fine to be stored. If the drive loses power, it expels anything it currently has stored on the ground near it.
Variable Multi-caliber Automatic Rifle
Cadets gun can have parts swapped out to change it from an SMG, an Assault Rifle, all the way up to an Anti-Material Sniper Rifle. When in SMG or AR mode, it's bullets are loaded in normally via a magazine slot in the bottom, or can use a battery pack mag to use energy rounds. When in Sniper mode, bullets can only be loaded in manually through the top chamber one at a time, and only heavy caliber bullets.
Plasma Blade
A collapsible blade that radiates high energy plasma in the shape of a blade. The shape can be modified slightly to change it's length from between a dagger to a long sword. It's plasma blade can cut through nearly any conventional material, barring special alloys or anything reinforced with an energy field (or perhaps magic).
It does have a limited energy pool before it needs to recharge though... However it does have a small traditional blade on it that can be used in a pinch

Author's Notes
Cadet actually one of my oldest OCs that I'm only recently getting to flesh out. Below I'll add in any extra design note images as I make them for people or I feel necessary. (As of the audition there is none)
- Cadet keeps his Tag worn around his neck, but its on the inside of his shirt so it isn't normally visible. He doesn't want anyone figuring out he's a competitor TOO easily...
- He has a lot of different pieces of tech, some I've made up and some I haven't. If you have a cool idea, feel free to pass it by me. Currently he has his spaceship, the Jetwing, and his Hover gear (he'll commonly use this to get around if the space allows it.)
- His hair generally covers his right eye (nothing is wrong with it), but feel free to use cartoon logic and swap which side its on to make it easier to draw. I'm just a stickler for certain realism aspects and like to keep it on the same side myself.
