A divine being whose presence exudes power and seemingly bends the space around her. Her white hair frames her face and is pulled back high in a ponytail that seems to split into nine even "tails". She accessorizes with scarlet flowers in her hair and hairpiece. She wears a short dress with tights, and long sleeves that bend the mind's belief. She is always silhouetted by her nine fluffy tails with red "eye" markings. Her outfit and platform heels feature bells, which always announce her presence with their chimes.

BackstoryA formerly-average kitsune who bested a god and consumed them. After quickly becoming bored of immortality and absolute power, she settled down in an unknown land and built Crossroads-- a town meant to draw in people of various lands and create interesting scenarios for her to enjoy, especially with her personally curated Cross tournament. Variety is the spice of life, after all! There is a secret about Crossroads, though-- a large, dimension-spanning one. The God Eater split reality into several dimensions to run concurrent tournaments. She's easily bored, you see, and simply one tournament wasn't enough to keep her entertained. The only other being aware of this is Miss X, as she is a sentient extension of the God Eater's parallel processing-- plus, it's nice to have a conversation partner.
PersonaThe God Eater is elusive and quiet-- even the most keen observer will have a difficult time discerning her true emotions and expression. Her presence is fleeting, and she rarely personally intervenes in trouble unless it is necessary.
However, it is well-known that the God Eater loves the Cross Tournament and diligently attends each match, overseeing it from her throne. She leaves the duty of running the tournament to her right hand, Miss X, so that she can quietly enjoy the show with a small smile on her lips.
If you do manage to win her tournament, be careful what you wish for-- the first wish you propose will be the one granted! |

It is said that the God Eater's powers are at work when the chimes of bells can be heard...
Familiar Summons
Not limited to, but often, small foxes that resemble the God Eater. Familiars can utilize dimension magic in the form of teleportation (both in and between dimensions), and generally only use it for two things: to find a potential competitor, and to teleport that competitor back to Crossroads.
The God Eater is capable of creating familiars with more specialized use cases (like combat) that possess derivatives of her powers and powers granted by wishes. It is rare that she needs to create specialized familiars, however.
Dimension Magic
Teleportation and multi-reality awareness is commonplace for the God Eater. Creating & sealing pocket dimensions are also within her ability's scope. She can bend dimensions and realities to her will, though she often chooses to more simply traverse planes than interfere. She is capable of splitting realities from a starting reality. She is technically present in all realities, but often chooses to focus on one at a time. (That said, she is able to process thoughts in parallel. Her "daughter", Miss X, is a derivative of this power.)
- A side effect of her ability is limited omniscience-- she can "know" what another being is thinking because she can see other sides of that being in alternate realities, thereby allowing her to make pretty educated guesses.
- Her ability does not allow her to control time-- she is highly conscious of the limited time that mortals have. While she can correct most mistakes that altering time could also fix, they are not perfect fixes. (If she revives the dead, is she actually healing their body and saving the soul, or is she pulling in a version of that being from a different dimension?)
(If you're familiar with Everything, Everywhere, All At Once, then you'll have a decent grasp on the extent of the God Eater's reality-bending magic. The God Eater predates this movie, but it resonates strongly with her character and abilities.)
Telepathy
The God Eater can occupy the "space" in one's mind and speak with them. While she doesn't use this ability frequently (to converse), it does allow her to listen in on conversations and thoughts. Beings that exist within her domain (Crossroads) are liable to be targeted.
Wish Granting
The God Eater can grant any wish, as far as she is aware. But there is one wish she will not grant: complete transferal of her own powers to someone else. She won’t be tricked into granting that one, either. How do you think she got her powers originally?
Job & Skills
As Madame of Crossroads, she is the leader of the town and oversees all major decisions. She leaves most decisions to locally elected leaders if she trusts they'll do what's best for the community (and her own interests) even though she's adept at politics, and her keen senses often lead to great solutions. She's the main guardian deity of Crossroads and deals with any potential threats that may come her way, even making a personal appearance if necessary.
As far as her skills go, even the God Eater isn't fully aware of the extent of her absolute power. She mainly uses her power for these 4 things: familiar summons, dimension magic, telepathy, and wish granting.
Location
When a tournament is running, it is predictable to find the God Eater observing a match from her seat in the Cross Colosseum or her tower directly behind it. Outside of tournaments, her presence is scarce.
Rumor has it that she frequently spends her time in the upstairs VIP section of the Fox Den...

Author's Notes
The "Chiifu" persona demonstrates her true personality and attitude toward life. She's here to enjoy life in the present, and that involves having a flourishing community around her. The "God Eater" persona demonstrates her true power and origins. She clearly distinguishes between the two personas so that one aspect of her is not a detriment to the other. (Who would take seriously a goddess who constantly loves being drunk? Who would want to freely interact with a dimensions-bending deity walking among their midst?) Plus, it allows her to see the two faces that others frequently wear-- they mask they don when faced with authority, and the mask they wear when surrounded by friends.
The God Eater's backstory and abilities are intentionally vague for flexibility. Feel free to create stories embellishing on her supposed backstory to fit your story's needs. Her abilities are always just a touch above the rest-- she'd never let anything capable of besting her into her domain. It's also difficult to best abilities that aren't fully defined~ (How else would she be able to maintain this setting?)
